Dr. Leslie A. Mobray is a retired educator who now spends his time as an educational consultant. Born in Annapolis in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, Dr. Mobray has always been an educator and knew early in life that he wanted to be a teacher. He says this is the “call placed on his life.” After graduating from Annapolis Senior High School, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Social Science at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. He then earned his Master of Education degree in guidance and counseling and administration at Bowie State University; and his Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale Florida. While pursuing this degree, Dr. Mobray was privileged to study at the University of Uppsala in Uppsala, Sweden. Dr. Mobray worked for over 30 years as a social studies teacher, guidance counselor, middle school principal and central office administrator for the Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Dr. Mobray has remained active in educational activities since his retirement and has served in adjunct professor positions at both Johns Hopkins and George Washington Universities. He has also been an instructional monitor for the Maryland State Department of Education and an advisor for the American Board for the Certification of Teacher Excellence. His most current assignment involves work with the District Committee on Ministry (DCOM) for the Greater Washington District of the United Methodist Church. One of his greatest joys is working with seminarians and mentoring graduate students.

In addition to his work as an educational consultant, Dr. Mobray holds memberships in: the National Alliance of Black School Educators, National Association of Pupil Services Administrators, Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of Sass and Science, Inc., the Board of Advisors for the College of Education at Bowie State University, and the AJF Scholarship & Achievement Foundation, Inc.

Dr. Mobray resides in the District of Columbia. He has one adult son and six grandchildren who reside in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. He enjoys both continental and international travel often times to enjoy blues and jazz as well as the local cultural. Dr. Mobray says his constant prayer is that God will “…continue to use him as a beacon and a builder” in His Earthly Kingdom!
