To My Union Bethel Church Family,
I pray that these words find you and your family safe and well!
Recently Governor Hogan and Baltimore County Executive John A. Olszewski, Jr. have indicated that the State of Maryland and several of its counties are initiating the COVID-19 Stage 3 Phase; thus, lifting some restrictions. Included among those businesses and institutions are Houses of Worship.
While this might be welcoming news for some in that people will be able to return to those spaces and resume some measure of normalcy, as your Pastor my concern is and remains the welfare of those whom I'm privileged to serve as Pastor.
Each week we receive new information which indicates more people are contracting COVID-19, and that it is affecting all age groups -- and not just those persons of a certain age.
Under the guidance of our Presiding Bishop, James Levert Davis, the Second Episcopal District churches have been kept up-to-date by experts in the Medical and Scientific Communities. This includes guidance to help us in determining when we can safely return to our places of Worship.
While I -- like many of you -- yearn for the day when we can safely to return to Corporate Worship and engage in physical fellowship, the time, however, is not now.
Therefore, Union Bethel will continue to remain connected by virtual technology to our Morning Devotions, Bible Studies, Meetings, Conferences, and Special Events and Activities.
As we embrace this new normal, I wish to express my appreciation to all for your continued faithfulness and support.
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up" Gal. 6:9 (NIV)
I remain... In His Service, Pastor Sembly
