Rescheduling the Annual Conferences due to Coronavirus(COVID-19) - Global Pandemic
"I Dare You to Trust God"
"I Dare You to Trust God"
The World Health Organization has announced that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is pandemic. We hear constantly that the role of the church is to provide a holistic ministry to those, we have been commissioned to serve.

After prayerful consideration and consultation with our Episcopal District Leadership, we have made a conscious decision to reschedule the Baltimore, Washington and Virginia Annual Conferences until further notice, because of the Public Health threat of the COVID-19.

The North Carolina Annual Conference scheduled for April 28 –May 1st and the Western North Carolina Annual Conference scheduled for May 5-9th, will convene as scheduled. As we track the day-to-day status of the Pandemic, we then will be in a better position to reschedule those conferences, if the need is still present.

We are not prepared to give a definitive reschedule date(s) for the Baltimore, Washington and Virginia Annual Conferences. However, prayerfully and in consultation with Conference Leadership, we will send a schedule to you as soon as possible. We will consider alternative plans so that we can handle the essential business of the Conference and our obligations to the General Church. Our paramount objective is to keep everyone as safe as possible. We will take all precautions that will assure the safety of all the people.

Each local congregation under the leadership of pastor and church leadership should make the decision, how best to operate, during this testing period. We ask that we open our minds and hearts to receive all information to make an appropriate and proper judgment call for the good of the congregation.

Although we are in the midst of stormy times, the church continues to need your financial support to do the work of ministry. Thus, we urge all members to please continue paying your tithes and offerings through the various ways that are offered by your church for giving.

Pray with us that God will intervene in what is a difficult situation at this time. It may seem that God may not be acting as quickly as we’d hope; nevertheless, we know that in His time, God intervenes in the lives of His people.

Stay hopeful! Stay faithful! Stay prayerful! “I Dare You to Trust God!” May we look to the Lord during these times have faith in Him who has sent His Son to die for our sins and His Holy Spirit (the Comforter) that indwells each of us.

In the Spirit to Leave a Kingdom Legacy,

James L. Davis
Servant Bishop
