Texas Winter Storm Relief
rom James Levert Davis, Servant Bishop, Second Episcopal District AME Church

Texas Winter StormsThis Memorandum is being sent as an appeal for assistance for those who have suffered severe loss as a result of the disastrous back-to-back severe winter storms that have occurred in the State of Texas; and more specifically, many of our clergy and members in the Tenth Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church are suffering from the loss of electricity, water and other vital resources needed for recovery.

We are soliciting monetary resources to aid the 10th District in its recovery efforts. As we've done in the past, we know that pooling our resources always does more good in our concerted efforts to assist those in need.
Please be assured that all funds collected from each of our churches will be sent to the 10th District, along with a listing of the church's names and the amount contributed by each church. To facilitate this process we ask that you make checks payable to the Second Episcopal District. Please note on the check - Texas Relief. Please send your contribution to the Second Episcopal District Office by Tuesday, March 2, 2021 Donations can also be received on the Givelify App, Second Episcopal District AME Church, 1134 11th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001, or Give via the 2nd District website ( Donate button -- tag it Texas Relief.

We are most appreciative of all that you do to help others as we continue to meet the challenges of all the things that are going on around us. Through it all, we will never lose hope. For in the midst of it all stands our God who will never leave nor forsake us.

We are in this together, As The REAL Church: Rising to the Challenge!
James L. Davis, Servant Bishop
